Job Description

A Clinical Research Nurse Manager is required for the Radiation Oncology Unit in Dublin.

  • Monday to Friday working hours are expected.
  • Flexibility will be considered for the right candidate.
  • The contract duration is 6 months.
  • The locations are Rathgar, Beaumont and St James.

Duties include:

  • Screening potential trial patients by reviewing their medical history, histology, laboratory and radiology reports etc.
  • Participation in the informed consent process, where the CRN goes through the details with the patient about participating in a trial.
  • Providing education, information and support for patients and their families.
  • Maintaining trial-related logs such as screening, informed consent, patient ID logs etc.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the Investigator Site File.
  • Involved in performing trial measurements such as toxicity assessments etc.
  • Involved in the ongoing training of site staff including Consultants, Registrars, Radiation Therapists, Nurses etc.
  • Designing and completing patient packs, Case Report Forms (CRF) and all trial-related documentation.
  • Patient follow-up, where possible, either by phone or in clinic.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training is mandatory for all staff involved in clinical trials.
  • Ensuring each protocol complies with GCP (Good Clinical Practice).
  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years post-graduate experience.
  • Experience working in the oncology setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to establish priorities.
  • Versatility and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Experience in co-ordinating clinical trials from initiation to closure would be advantageous.
