Our organization is currently seeking a Catering Operations Assistant to join our team.

About This Role
  • The role involves assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages to customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring that the kitchen, service, and seating areas are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations is essential for this position.
Main Responsibilities
  • Basic food hygiene preparation tasks include preparing snacks and sandwiches as required.
  • Storage and distribution of kitchen supplies must be efficiently managed.
  • The catering operations assistant will also be responsible for preparing counter areas and assisting with counter services.
  • Making and serving beverages as required is an essential part of the role.
  • Operating the cash register accurately is crucial.
  • A high standard of hygiene must be maintained in assigned areas.
  • Providing excellent customer service to trainees, staff, and visitors is expected.
  • Dishes and washing up must be collected and cleaned efficiently.
  • The kitchen, including appliances, equipment, work surfaces, floors, and walls, must be thoroughly cleaned.
  • Economical use of cleaning materials is necessary.
  • Dining and buffet areas must be set up according to catering manager's instructions.
  • Implementing Safety, Health, and Welfare policies and being aware of relevant legislation is essential.
  • Assisting with special events and functions is also part of the role.
  • Training courses may be required for professional development.
  • Maintaining personal hygiene standards is paramount.
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of Hygiene and Food Health and Safety Regulations is essential.
  • A general understanding of HACCP standards is necessary.
  • Candidate should possess customer service experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and on own initiative is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital.
