Front-end Engineer Position

We are looking for a skilled front-end engineer to join our design team and help bridge the gap between design and development. You'll play a critical role in refining and maintaining our design system, optimising user experiences, and ensuring our interfaces are scalable, accessible, and performant.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel in collaborative environments and are passionate about translating designs into functional, high-quality front-end code.

You will be responsible for helping scale and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across products. You'll also work closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and performant in production.

  • Refine and maintain the design system to ensure consistency across products.
  • Help identify and improve areas across our design → production → release process.
  • Enhance information architecture and navigation to improve usability and reduce cognitive load.
  • Work with the product team to identify and implement UX enhancements across the product.
  • Optimise UI for performance and accessibility to ensure our interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design System Development: Help develop and refine our design system to ensure scalability and consistency across products.
  2. Process Improvement: Identify and improve areas across our design → production → release process.
  3. Information Architecture: Enhance information architecture and navigation to improve usability and reduce cognitive load.
  4. UX Product Improvements: Work with the product team to identify and implement UX enhancements across the product.
  5. Accessibility and Performance: Optimize UI for performance and accessibility to ensure our interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in both design and front-end development, with the ability to bring designs to life using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar frameworks).
  • Strong understanding of design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI patterns.
  • Experience working with Figma or similar design tools to create and document design components.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and performance optimization techniques.
  • Ability to create interactive prototypes using front-end code.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with engineers and product managers.
