Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Dementia Advisor. As a Dementia Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting people concerned about their cognitive health or living with dementia, as well as their families and friends.

The Dementia Advisor will be a point of contact on an outreach basis, offering practical assistance, support, advice, and signposting to appropriate services and supports, enabling people to take control of their own lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals who are concerned about their cognitive health and/or have a diagnosis of dementia, and their families and friends.
  • Offer practical assistance, support, advice, and signposting to relevant services and supports.
  • Provide expert guidance to support the person and/or their family to navigate the healthcare system.
  • Collaborate with other organizations to ensure effective support is provided.

Requirements

  • A primary degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant health or social care area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of dementia and related issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in dementia care.
  • A strong focus on delivering high-quality service and contributing to a positive team environment.
