We're seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join our Backend Engineering team within the Growth Acquisition group. As a key member of our team, you'll lead efforts to design and implement scalable backend services that drive user acquisition and support HubSpot's growth ambitions.

As a Technical Lead, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and play a crucial role in the strategic decision-making process. You'll collaborate closely with a dynamic team of engineers, marketers, and product specialists to innovate and optimize the systems that power our acquisition strategies.

  • A Tech Lead is a player-coach responsible for leading a small team.">
  • They are recognized as high-performing engineers.">
  • They collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and other Tech Leads in their family to define and share relevant, compelling, and challenging goals for their team.">
  • They work across teams with other TLs to resolve cross-team issues.">
  • They proactively take ownership of their team's on-call health and product reliability and quality.">
  • They have an interest and opinion in the direction of the product.">
  • They do not defer this over to the PM or PD or others.">
  • Instead, they are an active member of the team's leadership triad, co-setting the direction for the team.">

Requirements

We're looking for someone with a strong background in Java and experience leading small teams. They should be open to experimentation and new ways of doing things. A customer-centric attitude and the ability to develop opinions about the HubSpot product are essential.
