Job Title: HSE Advisor

About the Role:

A seasoned professional with expertise in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management is sought to spearhead our building team in Waterford.

The ideal candidate will guide, support and advise project managers and relevant personnel on establishing, implementing and maintaining HSE systems and standards on site, aligning with our Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of safe working practices and ensure company HSE policy and procedures are implemented on site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and report potential hazards to relevant personnel.
  • Ensure all necessary HSE documentation is readily available for projects.
  • Verify that HSE project plans adhere to company standards.
  • Ensure HSE issues are discussed at project review meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with site managers and subcontractor owners on risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations as needed.
  • Deliver HSE training sessions where required and agreed upon with the project manager.
  • Suggest and promote initiatives to prevent incidents and present recommendations to the project manager or HSE & Sustainability Manager for consideration.
  • Support project managers in incident investigations.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Communicate, demonstrate and promote BAM's HSE ethos, values and concepts.
  • Be a role model for safe behavior.
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time.
  • Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities (e.g. HSA, EPA etc.).
  • Have thorough knowledge of all legal requirements, especially in relation to PSCS roles and responsibilities.
  • Attend relevant HSE meetings as necessary.
