About the Opportunity

EirGrid Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Vendor Relationship Lead to join our Chief Transformation and Technology Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our overall IT and business strategy – constructively contributing to required capability as part of the Strategic Delivery Programme.

Your primary goal will be to establish and maintain strategic relationships with our vendors and partners, enhancing their performance through new and innovative approaches to engagement and extracting sustainable value from these relationships. You will also be responsible for contract management and associated processes, maintaining partnerships with third-party service providers, to deliver on its service delivery objectives.

In this role, you will lead, mentor, and manage the stakeholder engagement team and foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages professional growth and development. You will be a member of EirGrid's extended leadership team and will proactively contribute to the overall achievement of business objectives.

About the Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field – Information Technology or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Deep understanding of vendor management best practices.
  • Outstanding leadership capability and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. Change oriented and able to effectively challenge the status quo, while bringing stakeholders and team members on the change journey.
  • Proficiency in risk management and compliance.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex IT solutions.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills. Ability to translate complex issues for executive leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to build effective internal and external partnerships.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and apply rigour and discipline to the processes of project management and delivery.
  • Strong financial acumen including managing budgets, funding requirements, and financial management.
  • Passionate and ambitious about digital transformation of the employee and customer experience, willing to combine tried and tested methods with exploring new options
  • Strong strategic thinking and vision, with the ability to understand translate business objectives into actionable outcomes.
  • Familiar with power system operations, and energy market dynamics.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical behaviour
