The University College Dublin (UCD) School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a permanent position as an Academic Clinician in Animal Health. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of clinicians, researchers, and educators who are committed to advancing the field of veterinary medicine. The position will involve providing high-quality patient care, teaching, and research, as well as contributing to the development of academic programs and engaging in collaborative research activities with colleagues from other disciplines.
The UCD Veterinary Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, interventional radiology, full endoscopy and arthroscopy, laser, a radioactive iodine unit, and fully equipped surgical and intensive care suites. Additionally, the hospital offers rehabilitation and physiotherapy services. The Small Animal Clinical Studies Section has a capacity for 13 Clinical Academics Clinicians, including four surgery, six internal medicine, two emergency and critical care, and one oncology specialist. These staff members are supported by 10 interns (rotating and discipline-specific), 9 residents, and a full team of ancillary staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and clinical duties, contributing to the development of academic programs, and engaging in collaborative research activities with colleagues from other disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to make a significant impact in the field of veterinary medicine.
Salary Information
The salary for this position is competitive, ranging from €64,112 to €101,524 per annum. Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with Department of Finance guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine or a related field;
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area, such as animal health;
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role;
