PhD Researcher in Photonic-Electronic Chiplet Platform

We are seeking a talented PhD researcher to join our team in the development of a photonic-electronic chiplet platform. This platform aims to enable modularity, scalability, and cost-effectiveness for diverse applications.
About the Project- The project focuses on developing a chiplet-based optical interconnect framework to complement traditional fibre-to-device integration.
- We aim to create a validated photonic-electronic systems-in-package prototype that demonstrates low loss inter-chiplet coupling.
- The project also involves investigating thermo-mechanical behavior and reliability performances of chiplet-based photonic systems-in-package.
The PhD candidate will be offered a 4-year scholarship, working in the Tyndall National Institute/UCC laboratories. The PhD student will be part of a dynamic research team comprising PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and research professionals.
