A Day in the Life
As a Junior Climate and Wind Consultant at Arup, your responsibilities will include conducting studies on the impact of climate and wind conditions on buildings and outdoor spaces.
You will use climate data and models to inform hazard and impact analyses of buildings and assets, working closely with other engineers and risk consultants on innovative projects.
In addition, you will:
- Develop technical expertise in wind, climate hazards and risk, microclimate and urban physics
- Collaborate with in-house specialists to find unique solutions for clients' challenges
- Prepare technical reports and presentation documents
About You
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are currently pursuing or have recently graduated with a Master's or PhD Degree in Building Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or related disciplines
- Have a fundamental knowledge of computational modelling (CFD, WRF or building and environmental physics tools)
- Have basic understanding of climate risk for the built environment
- Experience creating or adapting coding scripts (Python, GIS, etc.) for data processing and visualization
