Senior Ecologist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in ecology and environmental consultancy to contribute to the delivery of high-quality ecological services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage individual contracts to deliver exceptional ecological consultancy services
• Provide expert ecological input for a range of projects, including renewable energy, waste management, and civil infrastructure sectors
• Plan, conduct, and supervise site ecological surveys and fieldwork
• Prepare and monitor the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans
• Undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (Ec IAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in ecology or related subject
• Minimum of seven years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy
• Member of CIEEM, CIWEM, or equivalent professional body
• Excellent technical report writing skills
• Experienced in the oral hearing process and as an expert witness
• Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland
