Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a busy pharmacy environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Managing Pharmacist in the dispensary, working to agreed operating procedures and maintaining the highest ethical standards.

  • Accurately receive, record and assemble prescriptions, issue receipts and inform Pharmacists of changes in drug therapy and interactions between medications.
  • Serve customers over the counter medicines and other pharmacy products as required.
  • Fulfil requests for specific over the counter medicines using WWHAM questioning and refer to the Pharmacist where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure smooth running of the dispensary, including maintaining computer records and paperwork pertaining to various schemes.
  • Bring errors or safety issues promptly to the attention of the Managing Pharmacist and/or Business Territory Manager.
  • Maintain good stock control, rotation of stock, appropriate stock levels, correct suppliers and delivery details.
  • Keep the Pharmacy clean and tidy, reporting Health and Safety issues promptly.
  • Follow Pharmacy standard operating procedures, maintaining consistent professional standards.
  • Assist with over the counter sales and front of counter duties.
Leadership & Teamwork:
  • Provide support to stakeholders within the pharmacy and throughout the network to ensure company goals are delivered.
  • Work proactively, taking initiative and building positive relationships with others in the pharmacy.
  • Participate in staff training programmes, implementing new developments and maintaining a good working relationship with colleagues and customers.
  • Work effectively as part of the Pharmacy team, being flexible and adaptable assisting in all areas of the pharmacy operation.
Customer Focused:
  • Deliver customer service to the highest quality, providing advice and information on product ranges available in the Pharmacy.
  • Enhance relationships with Pharmacy Customers through professional and efficient service at all times.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required:
  • IPU Pharmacy Technician course or Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies.
  • 2 years experience in a pharmacy technician role preferable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task successfully in a busy environment.
  • Cashier experience an advantage.
  • Ability to use discretion when addressing customer queries, treating customer/patient information with confidentiality.
  • IT skills would be advantageous.
