Procurement and Logistics Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Procurement and Logistics Assistant. As a member of our 2025 Cooperative cohort, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects that drive business growth and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Your primary responsibility will be to support the development of strategic sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and commodities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify supply planning projects, set project objectives, scope, success factors, milestones, and evaluation criteria.

In addition to developing strategic sourcing strategies, you will also be responsible for representing the 'voice of the supplier' within the organization, ensuring that their needs and concerns are understood and addressed. This may involve collaborating with key stakeholders on contract strategy for suppliers, creating, negotiating, monitoring, and enforcing contracts as needed.

Other responsibilities may include participating in new product launches, leading supplier selection, requests for quotes, and ensuring that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables. You will also be expected to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and 5S systems.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a number of key responsibilities, including:

  • Supporting the development of strategic sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and commodities.
  • Representing the 'voice of the supplier' within the organization.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders on contract strategy for suppliers.
  • Participating in new product launches.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and 5S systems.
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at an Irish or Northern Irish university, completing a qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Honesty and integrity, with a strong commitment to complying with quality systems, regulations, and company policies.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and hardworking, with a ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual, with good time management skills.
  • Organized, focused, and capable of multi-tasking, with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with a basic level of PC skills.
  • A team player, able to work collaboratively with others in a multi-disciplined team.
