Expertise in Paediatric Haematology is sought after by our institution for the position of Consultant Haematologist. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and skills in clinical and laboratory haematology, with a special interest in Paediatric Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.

The National Children's Cancer Service at our hospital provides diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with cancer in Ireland. This includes solid tumors (Oncology) and haematological malignancies (Leukaemia and lymphoma). The service has increased significantly in size and complexity, delivering care through clinically governed programmes and patient pathways.

Scope of the Role
  • Diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with cancer
  • Paediatric leukaemia and lymphoma treatment following internationally recognised best practices
  • Care for patients enrolled in clinical trials requiring ongoing collaborative discussions

The successful candidate will have Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland in Haematology (clinical and laboratory) or entitlement to be registered, along with at least one year of postgraduate training and/or experience demonstrating competence in paediatric haematology.
