We are seeking a skilled and experienced Delicatessen Assistant to join our team in a bustling forecourt deli near Limerick City.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, providing an excellent standard of customer care and attention to detail.
  • To communicate with customers in an effective and welcoming manner, ensuring all queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure products are prepared, cooked and served to customers in line with Food Safety Requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of current delicatessen sales and promotions, making recommendations to customers as appropriate.
  • Assist customers with queries regarding delicatessen products, providing accurate and helpful information at all times.

Operational and Store Presentation:

  • To deal with customer complaints in a professional and pleasant way, escalating issues to the Store Manager where necessary.
  • To be vigilant at all times, preventing stock loss and waste through careful inventory management and adhering to store policies.
  • To take care of your health & safety, as well as that of your colleagues and customers, taking action to reduce risks and hazards.

Food Service:

  • To check temperatures in the delicatessen area, ensuring they are compliant with HACCP regulations.
  • To maintain accurate HACCP records, in accordance with store policies.
  • To monitor Critical Control Points, ensuring food is not open to contamination and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • To comply with relevant controls around all foods, including Fresh and Red Meats.

General:

  • To perform any other duties assigned by the Store Manager, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
