Job Description:

The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to appoint a temporary one-year Lecturer/Assistant Professor (below the bar) in Statistics. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute high-quality research that broadens and integrates with current areas of statistics research expertise in the School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To conduct high-quality research that advances the field of statistics and aligns with the School's research priorities.
  • To pursue excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the School's wide-ranging programmes, including contributing to the development and delivery of new programmes.
  • To participate in the School's academic activities, such as supervising students, serving on committees, and engaging in departmental service.

Requirements:

  • A PhD in Statistics or a related field.
  • An excellent record of research productivity, including publications in top-tier journals and successful grant applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching and learning, including experience with curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
