Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) as a Paediatric Research Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will work as part of an established multidisciplinary paediatric research team, conducting the FLORAL project. This project aims to investigate the relationship between gut microbiome and allergy/neurodevelopmental outcomes in infants.

The appointee will be responsible for conducting all aspects of the clinical study at Children's Health Ireland at Connolly Hospital, including participant recruitment, data collection, and management. The successful candidate will have excellent phlebotomy skills, IT skills, and the ability to work independently under self-direction.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient visits, biobanking, processing of biomaterial, data collection, and management
- Attend relevant meetings, including weekly research team meetings
- Assist in participant recruitment and coordinate follow-up visits
- Ensure parents and participants are fully informed of all details pertaining to the research study

Required Skills and Qualifications
- BSc Degree in Nursing
- Experience in Paediatric Nursing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a safe manner, ensuring professional accountability and adherence to hospital ethics, policies, and protocol
- Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) is desirable
