About the MASH Project

The Modular Adaptable SHelter (MASH) project is a collaborative effort between UCD, the Irish Department of Defence, and Defence Forces. This project aims to develop a cutting-edge shelter solution that meets the unique needs of defence forces while providing safe and comfortable temporary accommodation.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team at UCD. As a research fellow, you will contribute to the development of the MASH project, working closely with Prof Elizabeth Shotton and Dr Daniel Mc Crum. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing the modular shelter concept.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including defence forces personnel and industry partners.
  • Contributing to the overall project objectives and deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as architecture, engineering, or environmental science.
  • Experience in design thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of defence forces operations and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.

Benefits:
