Heritage Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Heritage Consultant to join our team in Naas, Ireland. As a key member of our Cultural Heritage and Archaeology team, you will play a crucial role in delivering expert advice on heritage-related enquiries and working on high-profile infrastructure projects.

About the Role:
  • You will manage and deliver archaeology projects in the southern half of the country, focusing on fieldwork projects.
  • Lead fieldwork projects from planning to delivery, ensuring bespoke archaeological strategies and works for developments and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and peers, identifying business development and marketing opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and assuring the work of subcontractors, preparing competitive tenders, and producing or contributing to archaeological desk-based assessments. Strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and a track record of successful project delivery are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience in archaeological fieldwork project management, with knowledge of Irish archaeology and history, planning processes, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and peers.
  • A highly motivated, conscientious, and efficient approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines and budget within a busy consultancy environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Archaeology, History, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in archaeological fieldwork project management.
  • Knowledge of Irish planning processes and relevant legislation.
