Market Operations Overview:

This role is responsible for providing advanced end-to-end operational support for securities, loans, exchange traded derivatives and over the counter derivatives across multiple lines of business.

The successful candidate will ensure trading and operational activities are completed accurately and before deadlines, researching and resolving complex issues, and simplifying client interactions.

Key responsibilities include being customer-oriented and data-driven, while focusing on continuous improvement.

As a member of the department leadership team, you will act as an escalation point across EMEA FICC Operations.

You will provide support to regional associates, encouraging inclusion and engagement, and drive the identification and implementation of continuous process improvement, strategic change, and risk remediation opportunities.

Business support and engagement is a critical part of this role, and you will enjoy regular interaction with front office partners, gaining exposure to markets rules, business strategy, and the diverse range of fixed income products.


Responsibilities:

Provides operational support for one or more activities within the lifecycle of a trade, including trade processing, trade settlement, accounting and reconciliation, lifecycle events, and collateral management.

Provides simplified client interactions and deepens client relationships across Global Banking and Markets' clients.

Completes accurate, timely clearing and settlement of trades with internal and external counterparties including reconciliation management and governance of trade fails and breaks.

Performs tasks accurately during high volume periods in a team environment.
Improves and simplifies the client experience, reducing manual touchpoints.
Supports the implementation of new processes to improve the overall business operating model.
Identifies and flags potential risks in a timely manner.
Work closely with trading, sales and clients, technology & settlement teams globally to optimise settlement rates reduce fails/ break.
Identification and implementation of process improvements, working independently or in partnership with technology for delivery.
Input into and support of strategic work, regulatory change and supporting projects that impact the team.
Responsible for program requirements, test scripts, UAT, and go live monitoring.
Ensure the allocation & settlement of securities for global markets, taking the necessary action to eliminate market risk.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income markets and operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience in financial services or related industry
