About the Role:

Endeavour Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Web Testing and Quality Assurance Expert to join our team for a 6-month contract position. As a key member of our development office in Cork, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software and maintaining the operation of existing production systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input and leadership to the project team on best practices for estimating, designing, developing, and executing test procedures and test cases.
  • Guide the project team on functionality and quality in relation to the testing approach.
  • Regularly report on test metrics and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Review specification documents with the project team to create accurate and comprehensive test plans.
  • Ensure deployed software meets expectations and conduct frequent reviews with the project team on the status and results of testing.
  • Cultivate proficiency in the use of test automation and test tracking tools to maximize productivity during regression testing and performance testing phases.
  • Recommend and develop improvements to the current testing process.
  • Manage priorities and set expectations when faced with multiple demanding tasks.
  • Take ownership over incoming support issues and apply simple production fixes or direct to the correct internal resource where possible.
  • You may be required to work beyond normal working hours to achieve project deadlines.
  • You may be required to perform additional duties not listed above to support the testing function into the future.

Requirements:

  • Must have 4+ cumulative years of system-testing experience, particularly in web-based testing.
  • Strong testing background expected with experience writing test plans and test procedures.
  • Experience with regression, integration, and system-level test execution.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Visual Studio Team System (Test Edition), HP Quick Test Professional, Selenium, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of performance/load testing tools Visual Studio Team System (Test Edition) or similar.
  • Experience in using defect tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to understand application architecture and know where to look for issues.
  • Experience dealing with data and understanding of SQL would be beneficial.
  • Self-starter, proactive, with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution.
  • Track record of achieving results and high standards.
  • Experience working on different teams and technologies with an ability to test across multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to manage your own time.
  • Desire to develop knowledge by staying up-to-date with testing tools and techniques.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland and hold a Stamp 4 visa.
