Wine Connoisseur

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate wine professional to elevate our guests' experience at a 5-star property in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland. As a Sommelier, you will provide exceptional guest service and contribute to the enhancement of our wine program through your expertise and enthusiasm.

• Oversee wine sales and manage inventory to ensure a curated selection of wines is available for our guests.
• Curate and expand our wine lists by selecting new and exciting wines to showcase our expertise.
• Provide comprehensive wine training to all F&B staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.

You will also be responsible for organizing tasting events and cellar tours to enrich our guests' understanding and enjoyment of our wine collection. Maintaining and elevating the standard of the wine cellar is also a key aspect of this role, including daily tours led by the sommelier team and private tastings in the cellar.

• 2+ years of experience in a quality-driven operation with a focus on fine dining and hospitality.
• Fluent English – oral and written communication skills.
• WSET Level 3 Awards in wine or Sommelier Diploma or studying towards.
• Previous experience in a fine dining hotel restaurant environment.
• Good understanding of service within a restaurant, including upselling techniques.
• Well-organized, reliable, and a team player with flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends.
