The Opportunity

As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality audits and advice to clients in advance of deadlines with limited supervision. Your tasks will include contributing to and assisting in the delivery of Audit department goals, leading multiple audit assignments concurrently, and ensuring the effective and efficient use of time and resources at all times.

You will also lead, supervise, and mentor junior staff members as appropriate to ensure quality, thoroughness, and completion of assignments within agreed timeframes. Additionally, you will report on audit findings, deal with escalated client issues, and execute client assignments utilising a range of audit and accounting applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality audits and advice to clients in advance of deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Contribute to and assist in the delivery of Audit department goals, including effective and efficient planning and execution of assignments.
  • Lead multiple audit assignments concurrently and ensure the most effective and efficient use of time and resources at all times.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor junior staff members as appropriate to ensure quality, thoroughness, and completion of assignments within agreed timeframes.
  • Report on audit findings, particularly to raise any issues arising during the audit which may impact on risk to the Audit Manager/Partner.
  • Deal with escalated client issues from junior members of the audit team in a timely manner.
  • Execute client assignments utilising a range of audit and accounting applications.
  • Liaise with other departments, including taxation, company secretarial, and consultancy in the delivery of audit and advisory services.
  • Identify potential opportunities to provide additional value-added services to the client.

The Person

We are looking for a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with prior practice experience within an Audit team. Previous financial services audit experience is desirable, as well as experience of CaseWare and supervising junior staff members on audit assignments. You should have strong technical knowledge, excellent technical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
