Key Roles and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will collaborate with researchers and research communities to promote the adoption of FAIR practices, particularly in arts, humanities, and social science communities in Ireland. This involves supporting the development of capacities for underrepresented research communities to participate in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) by leveraging and building upon the structures and work of the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

Main Objectives:
  • Plan, manage, deliver, and monitor the Research Data Alliance's (RDA) responsibilities within the EOSC Future project.
  • Broaden participation in RDA among underrepresented research communities through proactive outreach to stakeholders to enhance EOSC awareness and readiness levels.
  • Cultivate international data commons initiatives to facilitate technical, policy, social, and cultural knowledge exchange and alignment with EOSC objectives.
  • Coordinate international open knowledge practices and policies related to reward and incentive indicators to encourage researcher adoption of Open Science practices.
  • Collaborate with researchers and research data experts in Ireland to foster FAIR implementation and alignment across the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
  • Elevate DRI's support for FAIR data management in line with RDA outputs, NORF recommendations, EOSC guidelines, and global solutions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the DRI's capacity in research data management, focusing on technical requirements, training, and policy advancements.

The successful candidate should possess strong expertise in FAIR data management, research data governance, and open science principles. Proficiency in collaborative environments, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional team management is essential.
