Procurement Strategist Role

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Strategist to design and execute procurement and category strategies for our clients in the public sector.

  • The successful candidate will support the full procurement cycle—from planning and tendering to contract management and supplier performance improvement.
  • They will build and manage strong relationships with client executives and project sponsors, leading meetings with steering committees and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.
  • The Procurement Strategist will oversee the delivery of projects, manage risks and issues, and ensure projects stay on track with budget, scope, and timelines.
  • They will lead project teams, providing coaching, knowledge sharing, and support for junior team members to help them grow professionally.
  • The role requires contributing to business development by identifying opportunities, supporting proposal writing, and helping grow our Supply Chain consulting practice in the public sector.

Requirements:

  • A degree (or professional qualification) in Business, Supply Chain, Strategy, Technology, or a related area.
  • Significant experience in public sector procurement under EU regulations, preferably from a consulting background.
  • Understanding of category management and experience developing sourcing strategies and applying them in practice.
  • Ability to spot business opportunities, contribute to proposal development, and support successful bid outcomes.
  • Strategic mindset and practical experience in project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and managing organisational change.
  • Understanding of the key challenges facing Irish public sector organisations and familiarity with the strategies being used to address them.
