About the Role:

The Associate / Principal Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering projects for our clients.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge relevant to building services design and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.

The position requires a Chartered Engineer or someone working towards, educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and specifying applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
  2. Surveying, testing, and reporting on existing mechanical installations
  3. Specifying activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
  4. Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues
  5. Representing the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors teams
  6. Ensuring that drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards through engineering calculations
  7. Validating and checking designs and specifications
  8. Reviewing contractor's technical submissions, working drawings, and samples
  9. Supporting the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a project management, financial management, QA/QC, and technical review perspective

Requirements:

  1. BEng, MSc, or sufficient experience
  2. MCIBSE/MIET or HNC/HND with appropriate experience or equivalent
  3. Chartered or working towards
  4. Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
  5. Previous experience working for an MEP contractor would be advantageous
  6. Good site-based experience with a practical background preferred
  7. Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations and production of Designer's Risk Assessments
  8. Good knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
  9. Knowledge of MS Office applications - word, excel, etc.
  10. Knowledge of REVIT and ability to mark up drawings using Bluebeam software or equivalent PDF editor
  11. Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software
  12. Good understanding of British Standards
  13. Ability to prioritize own workload while working on multiple concurrent projects
  14. Ability to work to tight deadlines
  15. Ability to travel internationally
  16. Background in consulting or construction preferred
  17. Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
