Data Protection Lawyer
We are seeking a seasoned Data Protection Lawyer to advise on data protection matters across the business involving complex legal and regulatory issues. This includes advising on data protection governance, data transfers, incident response, and new data-related laws. You will also support business teams in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and provide subject-matter expertise in relevant areas. A key aspect of your role will be supporting Meta's global privacy program, including developing and improving privacy frameworks and processes to ensure we meet our obligations under global privacy laws.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at META and make a significant contribution to our global privacy program. You will have the chance to work on a wide range of challenging and rewarding projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and deliver results. As a seasoned Data Protection Lawyer, you will bring a high level of expertise and experience to the role, with a strong understanding of global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines. You will be based in one of our offices around the world and will be expected to travel occasionally for meetings and training events.

Your Background
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including at a law firm or prior in-house experience (applicable litigation, regulatory or more general product counselling experience will be considered). You must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable. In addition, you should be articulate and analytical with sound legal and business judgment and strategic thinking. Experience working on multiple projects in a deadline-focused environment, delivering practical advice under pressure, and enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples' lives is highly desirable.
