Job Summary
The role of Maintenance Service Manager is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the maintenance team's daily operations, coordinating workloads, and ensuring targets and quality standards are met. This involves working closely with external contractors to deliver agreed-upon job activities in line with our maintenance policy.
The organization operates across the South East and Midlands regions, serving diverse communities. Key objectives include working within the overall mission, vision, and policy framework, complying with health and safety regulations, and evaluating systems or facilities to determine necessary maintenance or repairs.
- Collaborate with the Technical Department to assess maintenance needs and develop plans to address them.
- Work with the maintenance team and/or contractors to prioritize tasks, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills required to complete projects.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with company standards and prioritization levels, and delegate tasks to team members as needed.
Additional responsibilities include conducting site inspections, identifying areas requiring extra maintenance work, and accessing senior management approval for additional costs. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance workers, ensuring they follow safe work practices and perform minor on-site repairs.
- Schedule contractors for major repairs as required and discuss maintenance concerns with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with communal fire systems, including their maintenance and upkeep.
Essential Skills/Abilities
- Degree or other relevant qualification in maintenance and/or construction.
- Minimum 3 years' experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership role.
- Full clean driving license and access to a car.
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
