Cardiac Physiologist Specialist

Letterkenny University Hospital is a leading provider of acute general and maternity services, as well as diagnostic and support services. As a teaching hospital with strong links to the University of Galway, Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and Atlantic Technological University, we offer comprehensive training and clinical placements for undergraduate nurses, midwives, and Allied Health Professionals.

1. We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our team in providing patient-centred care and quality-driven services.
2. The successful candidate will be responsible for calibration and maintenance of equipment, including sterilization and cleaning where necessary.
3. Regular safety and hygiene checks on equipment and environment will be conducted in accordance with local and corporate policies.
4. History taking and interpretation of request forms will be performed with accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing procedures and reporting abnormal recordings.
• Availability outside normal working hours for emergency situations.
• Participation in in-patient care, preparation, and reassurance of patients.
• Initiation and participation in dealing with medical emergencies, including cardiac resuscitation.
• Maintenance of records appropriate to the role.
• Rostering responsibilities, including leave and locum requirements.
• Participation in in-service training and college placement programs.
• Development of new procedures and codes of practice.
• Maintenance of open lines of communication with the Chief Cardiac Physiologist and non-invasive Cardiology department LUH.
• Participation in relevant in-house training and continuous professional development.
