Our client, a prominent destination in Co. Clare, is seeking an English/German-speaking Historical Narrator to join their team.
This seasonal role, running from March to September, requires flexibility and adaptability as it involves rostered duties over a 7-day period.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in both German and English, possess a passion for history and culture, and have a good knowledge of Irish history.
Main Responsibilities:
Providing guided tours of the castle in English and/or another European language (German)
Adapting and delivering your script to accommodate groups, schools, and various nationalities
Having a good knowledge of Irish history
Providing outstanding customer service in a friendly and outgoing manner
Reporting any health and safety matters to the Manager
Undertaking any other duties as assigned by the Castle Guides Supervisor
Handling ad hoc requests for private and corporate tours
- Fluent in German
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Confident speaking in public
- Capable of working independently with visitors while also collaborating in a team environment
- Good knowledge of Irish history
- Flexibility is required, including working rostered duties, weekends, and public holidays
- Wearing period costumes during working hours is mandatory
