Cloud Native Systems Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Native Systems Architect to join our team. As a key member of our product development teams, you will be responsible for designing and delivering large-scale, cloud-native backend systems on AWS.

The Role

This is a technical leadership role that requires someone with deep expertise in AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EKS/ECS) and strong backend programming skills (Java and/or Python). You will work closely with principal engineers globally to maintain coherence and best practices, while mentoring and upskilling the Dublin team. This role is hands-on, focused on backend systems at scale, and requires someone comfortable thriving in a fast-moving, less structured environment.

Responsibilities

* Architect and deliver large-scale, cloud-native backend systems on AWS.
* Influence technical decision-making across teams and products.
* Collaborate globally with principal engineers to ensure alignment and best practices.
* Mentor and guide engineers in Dublin, fostering technical excellence.
* Contribute to products with millions of daily users, where performance and scalability are critical.

Requirements

* 10+ years in software engineering/architecture, 4+ at senior architect/principal level.
* Proven experience building and scaling products for large user bases.
* Deep expertise in AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EKS/ECS).
* Strong backend programming skills (Java and/or Python).
* Exposure to mobile platforms is a strong plus.
* Experience with healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR) in regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR) preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable influencing at all levels.
* A proactive mindset – hackathon contributor, conference speaker, or community builder.
