About the Job:

As a Java Backend Engineer, you will work with leading engineers to build technology that supports the growth of one of our banking platforms. The platform covers application & infrastructure across our private cloud platform, using cloud technologies across GCP, Azure and AWS.

About Your Tasks:

  • You will write code, pair with other developers as appropriate, and decompose acceptance criteria to understand team backlog deliverables, complexities, and risks while working as a strong contributor on an agile team.
  • This role supports the Technology Reference Data team for TN Ireland.

About You:

  • A good track record of relevant experience in design and development of Java-based systems.
  • Experience with real-time messaging and ingestion e.g., Apache Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as Angular or ReactJS.
  • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
  • A passionate believer in the value of continuous integration, testing and deployment following a test-driven development (TDD) approach.
  • The ability to work in distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • A quick learner of new tools and technologies.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
