Bar Operations Manager

Job Summary:

  • Spearhead the day-to-day operations of a bar and restaurant, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, encompassing food safety standards and liquor licensing requirements.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise staff, including bartenders and servers, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to uphold the company's well-deserved brand reputation.

The Bar Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the venue's reputation for quality service, lively atmosphere, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:Operational Oversight:
  • Direct the daily operations of the bar and restaurant, ensuring seamless execution of front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, guaranteeing a secure and clean environment for customers and staff.
  • Manage inventory levels, implementing efficient ordering and stock control systems to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
Staff Management:
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for staff, including bartenders and servers, to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Create schedules that ensure adequate coverage while optimizing labor costs.
  • Mentor and support staff members, promoting teamwork and addressing concerns promptly.
Customer Experience:
  • Guarantee high standards of customer service are consistently maintained, responding promptly to feedback and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Monitor dining and bar areas to ensure a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
Financial Management:
  • Monitor and manage budgets, controlling labor, food, and beverage costs.
  • Analyze sales reports and operational data to identify areas for cost savings and revenue growth.
Marketing and Events:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote private dining, special events, promotions, weekly specials, and themed/seasonal events to drive customer traffic.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of special events, live music, or themed nights to enhance guest engagement.
Facility Management:
  • Oversee security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the restaurant and bar areas, ensuring a safe and inviting environment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs, maintenance, and equipment upgrades as needed.
