Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost control, ensuring residential construction projects are delivered within budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for residential construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Procure materials and subcontractors, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Analyse project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management techniques.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).
