Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist - Haematology/Oncology Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in Waterford. As a key member of the hospital's multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services to patients with haematological and oncological conditions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the highest priority is given to patient care and safety at all times
  • Lead and manage the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services to the Haematology/Oncology day ward and inpatient wards
  • Achieve and maintain competence in the use and administration of the Oncology/Haematology clinical information system (ARIA)
  • Review Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) protocols within the hospital
  • Manage the safe and cost-effective entry of new anti-cancer medications onto the hospital formulary
  • Take a lead role in the management of SACT medicine stock shortages within the hospital
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to optimise SACT workflows
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines as part of the MDT

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or entitlement to be so registered
  • At least 4 years of satisfactory post-registration hospital experience
  • Significant, proven post-registration hospital practice experience, with broad clinical pharmacy experience and experience in line management
  • Experience in working within an Aseptic Compounding Unit and/or haematology/oncology unit(s)
  • Previous experience working within Cancer specialities at a senior level
