Senior Planning Consultant Job Description

The Role:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of planning applications.
  • Prepare and submit Development Plans, Local Area Plans and other policy reports and studies.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project teams, local authorities and personnel.
  • Take ownership of work and provide leadership on projects.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to achieve compliance with performance standards and drive practice development.

Requirements:

  • A degree in town planning or related field is required.
  • Strong understanding of planning legislation, national, regional and local policies and guidance is essential.
  • Excellent report writing skills, including ability to articulate ideas and justifications.
  • Proficiency in IT systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
