About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to join our team at TN Ireland. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing and motivating the Equipment Project Procurement Team.

Your primary focus will be on commanding respect from all stakeholders through technical and personal credibility and integrity. You will establish package assignments and priorities, eliminate obstacles, manage the interface with in-house staff and Client management, provide on-the-job training, offer support and guidance, and work closely with the Department Manager of Equipment Procurement to settle performance-related issues.

You will coordinate with the Client's procurement representative and Project Manager and maintain good relations. Your responsibilities will also include planning, developing bidder lists, qualifying bidders, preparing requests for quotation, conducting bid evaluations, disseminating Operating Procedures for Procurement activities, and ensuring implementation by the Procurement Team.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the Equipment Supply Chain and be capable of building strong relationships with vendors. A strong technical background would be an advantage.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in a recognised Industry field (Procurement Management or Business-related qualification)
  2. Membership of IIPMM or equivalent is an advantage
  3. Extensive experience in Capital Equipment Procurement or Project Management related field
  4. A minimum of 10 years in a Procurement Management or Lead Buyer position (combination of design office and construction site beneficial)
  5. A minimum of 10 years' experience as an Engineering Buyer in a related industrial sector

Benefits:

This is a long-term contract role based in Cork City with hybrid working options. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on level of experience.
