Job Summary:
The role of Assistant Director of Nursing is a key leadership position in our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:This challenging and rewarding opportunity for a qualified nursing professional involves leading and supervising nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance with national standards.
Main Duties:
- Supervise and lead a team of nurses to provide person-centred care
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices and ensure adherence to HIQA standards
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans
- Oversee infection prevention and control measures to ensure a safe environment
- Prepare for, respond to, and follow up on HIQA inspections and audits
- Manage documentation and supervise nursing and care staff
- Participate in recruitment, rostering, and performance appraisals
- Promote dignity, autonomy, and choice for patients in a safe and respectful manner
- Act as a key point of contact for patients and their families
- Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development
Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration required
- Minimum 3 years experience in nursing management or similar aged care setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIQA, national standards, and relevant legislation
- Leadership training and/or management qualification desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in nursing leadership
