Occupational Therapist for Community Mental Health

Excel Recruitment is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a well-supported Community Adult Mental Health Team. This role focuses on promoting recovery, enhancing occupational performance, and supporting individuals to live independently and meaningfully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a complex caseload of adults with varying mental health presentations, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
  • Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional needs and inform care planning.
  • Design and deliver individual and group-based interventions focused on improving daily living skills, community participation, vocational goals, and social engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop recovery-focused care plans tailored to each service user.
  • Participate in discharge planning, transition support, and liaison with primary care, community supports, and family/carers.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU)
  • CORU Registration (essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience, with at least 1 year in adult mental health.
  • Experience delivering occupational therapy in the Community.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing a diverse caseload.
  • Full driver's licence and access to own transport (essential).
