Main Duties:

  • To deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services to clients.
  • To provide expert ecological input for various projects.
  • To plan, conduct, and supervise site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
  • To develop and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans.
  • To undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reporting requirements.
  • To write comprehensive technical reports and deliverables.
  • To ensure quality control, including attention to detail and accuracy, timely delivery of contracts, and continuous improvement of work produced by the Ecology team.
  • To act as an expert witness in oral hearings.
  • To foster strong relationships with clients and attend meetings with client and design teams when necessary.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in ecology or a related subject.
  • A minimum of seven years' post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
  • Membership in CIEEM, CIWEM, or an equivalent professional body.
  • Experience in the oral hearing process and acting as an expert witness.
  • Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Experience in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • A full clean driver's license.
