Strategic Engineering Leader Sought

We're recruiting for a high-visibility role within a major banking programme in Ireland. This requirement comes via direct instruction from a senior consulting partner and demands a leader with genuine gravitas, technical depth, and the authority to operate credibly with senior stakeholders.

Key Outcomes

  • Define and uphold engineering standards and ways of working
  • Lead and scale delivery with confidence, quality, and consistency
  • Represent engineering with authority at senior stakeholder forums

Candidate Profile

  • Originated as a software developer and retains technical credibility
  • Deep understanding of the full SDLC from design through to release and operations
  • Senior leadership experience in large, complex environments
  • Financial services experience essential; banking strongly preferred
  • Consultancy mindset with strong commercial awareness
  • Proven ability to deliver consistently in high-pressure settings

Location & Travel Requirements

  • Ireland-based role
  • Onsite presence required two days per week
  • Flexibility permitted to attend onsite every two weeks for several consecutive days
  • No further remote flexibility beyond this
  • Candidates must be UK or Ireland-based and able to meet the onsite cadence

  • Track record of building and professionalising engineering teams
  • Consultancy and commercial judgement
  • Commitment to the required onsite cadence
