Job Title: Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector
Overview of the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrician to join our team as an Electrical Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and verifying the quality of electrical installations on industrial or large commercial construction projects across Ireland.
Main Responsibilities:
- Inspect and verify the quality of electrical installations including containment systems, cabling, terminations, earthing/bonding, panels, and instrumentation wiring.
- Conduct thorough walkdowns, audits, and inspections at various stages of installation to ensure compliance with project specifications and national regulations.
- Review and ensure that all electrical work is executed in accordance with I.S. 10101 (National Rules for Electrical Installations) and international quality standards.
- Monitor testing and commissioning activities such as insulation resistance, continuity, RCD testing, and loop impedance.
- Liaise with electrical supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to address any non-conformances or quality issues that may arise during the installation process.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in compliance with Safe Electric and HSA (Health and Safety Authority) regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and experience:
- A National Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in electrical QA/QC roles on industrial or large commercial projects.
- Excellent knowledge of Irish electrical standards (I.S. 10101), industry best practices, and relevant legislation.
- Experience with electrical testing procedures and documentation control.
- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with quality control systems and procedures (e.g., ISO 9001).
