This is an exciting opportunity to deliver trauma-informed care for young people aged 13-17 years old.

The team will foster positive attachments through relationship building and provide a therapeutic environment for children and young people.

  • Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans to ensure the well-being of each child/young person.
  • Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person within our service.
  • Promote the physical, emotional, social, and religious welfare of each young person in care.
  • Encourage regular attendance at school, training centres, medical, and clinical appointments.
  • Organize personal documents, arrangements, information, and finance on behalf of the young person.
  • Liaise with parents, families, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
  • Attend meetings related to care and development of the young person.
  • Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person.
  • Use physical intervention where applicable and necessary.
  • Promote participation of children and young people in decision making.
  • Prepare well-balanced meals with young people and undertake household management tasks.
  • Report regularly to the Social Care Leader/Manager and contribute to team meetings.
  • Compile written and verbal reports on the progress of development of the young person.
  • Ensure adherence to Child Protection procedures and keep abreast of current legislation and professional childcare knowledge.
