Engineering Director Role

This role is a strategic leadership position responsible for managing all major and sustaining capital project activities within the operations team.

The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects, ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing project resourcing strategies.
  2. Fostering positive employee relations and maintaining an environment of continuous improvement.
  3. Managing the implementation of capital expenditure programs and providing innovative solutions for strategic and capital projects.
  4. Directing and managing all stages of each project from planning to completion, including budget proposals, progress reports, and project resource allocations.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leading root cause analysis and problem-solving relating to plant downtime events.
  • Developing corrective action plans to mitigate risk of unplanned downtime.
  • Achieving all plant productivity metrics (throughput, efficiency, etc.).

This role requires a strong track record of team leadership, people management, and IR experience, as well as proven organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to deliver to deadlines, leading and empowering employees to achieve key performance indicators.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • BSc Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Process Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a senior engineering or capital projects management role.
  • Competency regarding safety regulations for large-scale manufacturing sites.
