The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team in Global Technology Services. As a key member of our cloud-native engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing custom high-throughput frameworks/libraries, driving change through collaboration and influence, and ensuring the successful deployment of software applications.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills in bigdata technology, Databricks, and Azure. You will work collaboratively within an agile project team to deliver creative solutions that help us become an end-to-end, next-generation financial services company.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop custom high-throughput frameworks/libraries using bigdata technologies like Databricks and Azure.
- Drive change through collaboration, influence, and demonstration of proof-of-concepts (POCs).
- Responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, integration testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Work collaboratively within an agile project team to deliver creative solutions.
- Experience performing data analysis and data exploration using bigdata technologies.
- Experience working in an agile delivery environment with teams.
- Hands-on development experience in Java or similar programming languages.
- Exposure/understanding of DevOps best practices and CICD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment).
- Experience working in a multi-developer environment using version control systems like Git.
- Strong knowledge of Databricks SQL/Scala - Data engineering pipeline.
- Strong experience in Unix, Python, and complex SQL.
A bachelor's degree level qualification in a computer or IT-related subject is required. In addition, we are looking for candidates with 5+ years of overall bigdata data pipeline experience, 5+ years of Databricks hands-on experience, and 5+ years of experience in cloud-based development including Azure Services, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and Docker.
