Principal Information Security Network Specialist

EirGrid Group seeks a highly skilled Principal Network Security Engineer to join their Enterprise Security team. In this role, you will design and implement secure network solutions that align with the organization's security policies and business goals, recommend and evaluate new network security technologies and solutions, and configure and manage next-generation firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network access control, and virtual private networks.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external security partners to respond to security incidents, develop and maintain operational procedures and run books, drive improvements and automation, and assist the 'Blue Team' in response to incidents and attack simulations. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of security protocols and technologies, cloud security, and network security standards and frameworks.

A background in a relevant technical discipline and typically 10 years' experience in network security engineering or related roles is required. Strong knowledge of scripting and automation for network security tasks, as well as professional certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, or Azure Certified Security, is highly valued. Experience with Zero Trust architecture principles, SIEM tools, and identity and access management within a network context is also beneficial.
