">Job Summary:
">We are seeking a skilled Pain Management Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Mercy University Hospital Cork. The successful candidate will have expertise in acute pain management, chronic pain, and specialist interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
">Responsibilities:
">- ">
- Advise on inpatient acute pain management and support the development of policies and guidelines for pain management.">
- Participate in review of epidural, paravertebral, and local anaesthetic infusions, and undertake formal and informal training of ward-based staff.">
- Have excellent skills in therapeutic communication, patient liaison, and follow-up care, and offer medication advice and support to optimize the plan of care and patient outcomes.">
- Act as an expert in pain management, working with the pain consultant, nursing staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team.">
- Support and assist with specialist interventions to manage pain and achieve the best possible outcomes.">
Requirements:
">- ">
- A registered nurse on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann (NMBI).">
- A minimum of 1 year's post-registration full-time experience or an aggregate of 1 year's full-time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made.">
- A minimum of 1 year's experience or an aggregate of 1 year's full-time experience in the specialist area.">
- Successfully completed a post-registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, that verifies the achievement of a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 9 or higher award that is relevant to the specialist area of care.">
