The role of a Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Projects involves providing technical leadership and expertise across various Engineering competencies including Lean six sigma, manufacturing and automation.

This position is responsible for the management of significant Engineering projects through project management offices and ensuring the quality of process and product as defined in appropriate operating systems and material specifications.

Key responsibilities include ownership of the first-pass-yield and material review board process, continuously improving the performance of the process, and optimizing current floor space.

In addition, this role will provide support to Process Development/Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process, engage in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing, and support process development and cost reduction activities within business units.

Requirements:
  • A level 8 honours degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
  • At least four years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven project management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and influence others as required
  • Capability to work effectively in an aggressive, dynamic, and results-driven environment
  • Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Technological expertise and willingness to source, investigate, and implement technological and automation advances
