About The Chief Risk Governance Role

\

The Chief Risk Governance sits in our second line of defense, reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). As a key member of our Risk Function, you'll lead core components of our Risk Management Lifecycle, ensuring effective risk mitigation and compliance.

\

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our Risk Culture, driving alignment across the organization, and delivering our overall Risk Strategy. Your success will be measured by your ability to develop our Risk Governance Function's profile and ensure consistency between our risk profile and strategic plans.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of core components of our Risk Management Lifecycle.\
  • Collaborate with the CRO to develop our annual Risk Function Plan and ensure timely reporting to executive and board-level committees.\
  • Coordinate the formulation of our Risk Appetite Statement and monitor consistency between our risk profile and strategic plans.\
  • Manage our policy governance framework, ensuring a consistent and formal approach to risk policy governance.\
  • Develop and enable our emerging risk processes.\
  • Structure and orchestrate Risk Function Senior Management Team meetings for seamless communication and collaboration.\
  • Maintain and promote our Risk Charter.\
  • Work closely with the CRO and Risk Senior Management Team to produce regular reports.\
  • Oversee risk function reporting obligations to various governance forums.\
  • Manage risk assurance activities across three lines of defense, reporting to the Board Audit Committee.\
  • Plan and execute Second Line of Defense Risk Assurance reviews.\
  • Ensure risk function reporting obligations to AIB Group p.l.c. are met.\
  • Participate in AIB Governance forums to maintain alignment with Second Line of Defense risk management practices.\
  • Oversee execution of Second Line of Defense Risk Function roles and responsibilities, including SLA management.\
  • Grow and manage a high-performing risk team.\
  • Develop competency requirements and ongoing training plans.\
  • Uphold and promote the values and independence of the role.\
  • Support the development of a robust risk management culture.\
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships.
