Nurse Specialist in Respiratory Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our Respiratory Integrated Care team based in Letterkenny, Co Donegal. This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in the Slaintecare Virtual Ward Project, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care.

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, without weekends or bank holidays. You will have the flexibility to travel within Donegal to cover all four network locations, ensuring that patients receive seamless care across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with respiratory conditions, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' symptoms, health status, and medication regimens to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
  • Analyze remote monitoring data to identify potential issues early on, allowing for prompt intervention and prevention of complications.
  • Provide empathetic and informative support to patients and their families, educating them about their respiratory condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments necessary for improved well-being.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with community services and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective signposting to additional resources when needed.
  • Perform regular home visits to assess patient needs and progress, making any necessary adjustments to care plans to optimize outcomes.
